I do not paint what I see merely; I paint what I am.” Born: Brooklyn, NY. April 6, 1928. Lived and painted throughout the US, Europe, and Mexico. Now maintains studio and residence in New Mexico and Mexico. RioBravoFineArt, Inc. invites you for a new exhibit of recent watercolors, oils and mixed media by artist Tom Hamil. Opening reception will be Saturday, July 12, 2008 - from 6-9 pm.
Meanwhile “RioBravofineArt goes Abstract at the Ice House” 110 Broadway Avenue Truth or Consequences, NM 87901 with: Eduardo Alicea-Moreno, Bill Brown, Susan Christie, Jeremy A. Earickson, Mark Frossard, James Gasowski, Delmas Howe, Ruth, Zingaro and young upcoming artist Tylor. Each Artist will have a 12’x 5’ raw canvas to paint. During July 4,5,6 they will be an open house for the Artists to come to the Ice House and work on their piece. Then their work will be display on the wall of the Ice House on Saturday, July 12, 2008 from 6-9 pm. Special Guest: Jeff Barbour with a display of his colorful abstract wall sculptures.
In a special project "Water Meets Fire" - Susan Christie Artist In Residence May 2008 to May 2009 RioBravoFineArt Gallery Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Originally from Minnesota with its abundance of water, Susan has been painting using Inks, Mineral Colors and Water-Based Media on Chinese Paper for over 35 years. She studied with some of the great living Master Painters during her study in China in the mid '80's. She has traveled extensively throughout the US and Asia with shorter trips through Europe. She has lived in Northern New Mexico, Montana and Seattle. Susan now lives in T or C. Her work can be seen at RioBravoFineArt, Touching Stone Gallery in Santa Fe and Hole in the Wall Gallery, Ennis, Montana. Meet the Artist, Share Stories, Images, Information, History, Geology and Magic about T or C and its Water. May of 2009 Susan will share her years of work and experiences with an exhibition at the gallery. During the year several programs will be scheduled.
